Our client, a globally reputed investment bank is currently looking for a senior operational risk professional to be part of the Asia Ex-Japan team. The AeJ operational risk team has responsibility for the development of operational risk management for the region.

 

Job Responsibilities

• Face off to key business functions and develop the Operational Risk framework, products and services

• Develop front-to back risk assessments for key Front Office functions

• Lead and develop specific aspects of the operational risk framework as required 

• Supporting the AeJ Head of ORM in the performance of his / her responsibilities

• Owning a key Front Office relationship (FID / Equities) including regular meetings with business management, production of monthly reporting, and input to Global reporting

• Owning key Middle / Back Office relationships including regular business engagement, production of monthly reporting, and input to Global reporting

• Owning overall Country relationships, utilising information from business line and support function risk assessments / reports

• Managing relationships with the relevant Operational Risk Co-ordinators to ensure timely and accurate delivery of the required operational risk information

• Providing ongoing communication to the business on ORM issues, and acting as a key point of contact for business management on ORM

• Representing ORM on key business forums and committees, as required

• Identifying key trends, issues and other insights requiring further investigation and following up with the business

• Supporting the ongoing development of operational risk practices

• Managing and developing Operational Risk Manager resource, where required

 Job Requirements

• 8+ years experience in a risk related function in financial services institutions

• Possess strong investment banking and / or capital markets knowledge and experience

• Have excellent communication and IT skills

• Display commercial awareness and an understanding of key business priorities

• Display a proactive approach to operational risk management

• Be experienced in managing and developing analyst / junior resources

• Be experienced in managing key business relationships

• Relevant investment and / or operational risk professional qualifications are an advantage but not essential.
